Reiki

If you learned anything back in high school physics class, energy makes up everything.

Yep, that means even you—your body, your thoughts, your fears, literally everything!

This concept lays down the framework for Reiki, an alternative therapy practice that harnesses energy as a form of healing.

In the Japanese language Rei means “universal” and Ki means “life force energy.”

This traditional healing technique has been practiced throughout the history of humankind—in a variety of different forms—by using a hands-on approach in reducing stress, and promoting health and head-to-toe healing.

Reiki assists in the body’s natural ability to balance and restore itself on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

When your life force energy is low, that’s when you are most likely to get sick.

Diseases and illnesses thrive in low energy environments.

When you raise your vibration or life force energy, disease is pushed out and wellness is welcomed in.

How does it work exactly?

During a reiki session, you will lie down on a table or sit in a comfortable chair, sometimes with calming music in the background, while your therapist directs concentrated energy towards your body with his/her hands, body, eyes, and breath.

According to reiki, pain and trauma can remain stuck or stagnant in your body unless outside energy is forced in to keep it flowing.

As your therapist moves his/her hands over your body, paying specific attention to your “problem areas,” your energy will shift and your aches and pains will be relieved.

This transfer of energy reveals itself through certain physical changes experienced by the reiki practitioner.

For example, your healer may feel their hands warming up, along with a tingling sensation in their fingers.

Once these physical signs dissipate, your healer knows the energy transfer was successful and they can move on to a different part of your body.

Reiki therapists typically spend about 2-5 minutes on each part of the body and implement a variety of hand shapes to conduct the flow of energy.

Reiki can address a wide range of issues, including standard aches, pains, and wounds, as well as emotional blocks, trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression.

More About Reiki Sessions

The duration of your Reiki sessions really depends on your individual needs. You may experience relief in just one session, or you may need multiple sessions for complete healing.

Your therapist will be able to give you a better sense of your treatment plan when you meet with them for your consultation.

Who can benefit from Reiki? Everyone.

If you feel like prescription pills and western medicine keep failing you, and traditional approaches aren’t bringing you the results you’re hoping for, Reiki may be just the method for you.

Kinesthetic Embodiment

Kinesthetic Embodiment is a unique blend of somatic, experiential, imagerial, and kinesthetic practices that help integrate our minds and bodies, creating greater vitality, empowerment, and experiential awareness.

The body is the landscape of the unconscious and one of the primary ways we transform is by bringing what is unconscious into our conscious awareness so that it’s no longer running the show behind the scenes.

Working in the realm of the body and imagery, we access aspects of our consciousness that are ordinarily outside of our awareness.

These split off parts of ourselves are responsible for creating the repeating, damaging patterns that we often don’t understand, even if we can rationalize them.

In other words, when we integrate our unconscious into our awareness, we regain a sense of empowered

Created by our founder, Brooke Sprowl, Kinesthetic Embodiment arose out of 15 years of clinical practice in which she discovered that the most powerful healing experiences were those that focused more on the body and the realm of experiential awareness rather than those that focused on intellectual awareness.

While cognitive and psychodynamic approaches are integrated into Kinesthetic Embodiment, this approach focuses on connecting with the physiology of emotions experienced in the body, working with the realm of images and metaphors to explore and heal unconscious trauma, and using movement and vocalization practices to gain greater access to our experiential awareness.
