A man is but the product of his thoughts; what he thinks, he becomes. –Ghandi
Research has proven, time and again, that CBT is a lasting and effective treatment for anxiety, depression, relationship, and self-esteem problems. We all hold beliefs about ourselves, others and the world around us and these beliefs often dictate the way we feel.
Depression and anxiety can stem from processing information through a lens of biased, irrational beliefs about yourself. Examples of common irrational beliefs are “I am worthless,” “I will never get better,” “Love will never happen to me,” and “There is something wrong with me.” These beliefs may become self-fulfilling prophecies if left unchecked. Through CBT we will target these beliefs and help you create more balanced ways of seeing yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.
Effective CBT actually alters the chemicals in your brain and rewires your neural pathways, transforming the way you process information about yourself and the world. As cognitive behavioral therapists, we examine how your irrational thoughts and core beliefs may be contributing to depression, anxiety and relationship problems. We use a CBT technique called cognitive restructuring to challenge and transform these irrational beliefs so that you experience peace and freedom.
Behaviors can also influence the way we feel. Using CBT, we will also examine the behavioral component of your feelings and explore practical ways that your actions and behaviors can contribute to the process of healing and restoration.
