I believe that we all benefit from having someone in our corner, to listen, motivate, challenge without judgment and support through life’s unpredictable changes and challenges. Whether you’re feeling depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or simply not yourself, know that whatever you’re going through, change is possible, and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
HOW I WORK
I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety, past trauma, relationships issues, grief and loss, work/school challenges, low self esteem, family conflict/divorce/parenting, emerging adulthood, and life transitions.
While I utilize a variety of modalities that have been shown to be effective in managing mental health symptoms, I have a holistic therapeutic approach, meaning we will consider many different aspects of your life in the quest for health and wellness. This includes your feelings and emotional responses to challenges, personal relationships and community, creative or spiritual outlets, and daily habits and rituals.
If desired, my approach can combine traditional talk therapy with the physical practice of yoga and tools from yoga and mindfulness philosophies. It is widely known that both exercise and meditation supports positive mental health. So rather than solely suggest that you incorporate these practices into your daily life, I find it very valuable to incorporate them into session. Together, we can practice postures and breathing techniques in order to support your confidence and familiarity in utilizing these helpful tools outside of therapy. Yoga not for you? No problem! It is by no means a requirement, just an offering.
I am certified in the evidenced-based practices: Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy, and Making Parenting a Pleasure.
