ABOUT ALISON
It was when I stopped searching for home within others and lifted the foundations of home within myself, I found there were no roots more intimate than those between a mind and body that have decided to be whole.

Helping others create change in their lives is something I am deeply passionate about. For the past decade, I have been invested in helping others to heal, grow and live in their full potential, and have worked with a variety of populations in an array of settings. I recognize that asking for help is often no simple task.
I believe therapy is an invitation to delve deeper into your truth so that you can live an authentic, full life. It’s a vulnerable process and a unique experience for every being, though can be transformational.
HOW I WORK
I work primarily with teenagers, young adults and adults through individual and family therapy. I specialize in working with anxiety disorders, trauma symptoms, substance use, grief, and young adults impacted by cancer. I am also a certified yoga instructor with specialized training in therapeutic yoga. I am especially passionate about integrating therapeutic yoga and mindfulness practices into the work I do with clients and find it especially beneficial when working with anxiety and trauma-related symptoms. I find that these frameworks provide a variety of concrete tools to use when in distress, and also aid in deeply integrating change, growth and healing. That way, growth can be maintained. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in therapy.
I view therapy as a collaboration. I believe you bring your own unique set of strengths to the table and together we will explore modalities which best suit you and your current concerns. I will meet you where you’re at in your process with compassion and I offer a safe space where you can explore concerns openly and honestly. I believe that all beings are whole as they are and worthy, and therapy can aid us in returning to that remembrance.
