Alexa Golding, LMFT
I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy lies within the client and therapist’s unique and special connection. I will use our relationship to help guide you to go to the deep and uncomfortable places that you may not feel safe to go to alone.
I use empathy and compassion to help you navigate through life’s challenges. I will join you on your journey towards healing so that together, we can work to overcome your struggles and achieve your goals. While we might not fully be able to eliminate problems, we can learn ways to make difficult times and experiences more manageable. My hope is to help guide you to a place of inner peace.
When you become aware of a negative pattern you are repeating, you now hold the power to change it, helping you to regain control over yourself and feel empowered from within. Awareness: this is where the change begins.
How I Work
Working from a psychodynamic approach, I will utilize our therapeutic relationship to help you identify patterns in your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs, so that together we can rewrite your story to help you form a more positive sense of self. So many of our past experiences have shaped our self-perceptions and the ways we relate to others. I will help you understand and make sense of the parts that no longer serve you as you discover your authentic truth. I may point things out to you to increase your awareness into your behaviors so you can gain insight into positive changes you would like to make. My training in CBT allows me to utilize different tools and skills to help you become your own therapist outside of our sessions. I am committed to helping you access underlying fears that keep you feeling stuck, so you can learn ways to change your perspective and uncover who you are truly meant to be.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) #130043.
